As a society we're more connected than ever.  It's helping us to keep abreast of what's happening in our communites at a very refined level, this is hyperlocal.  At the June TecSocial we'll learn about two initiatives that will help enable public contribution at a very local level - one is in community news the other is in funding startups.

Join us at the June TecSocial where guest Mathew Georghiou will discuss the soon to be launched community portal GoCapeBreton.com and an idea in development to bring crowdfunding to startups and investors in the Cape Breton communtiy.

Mathew is the founder of MediaSpark Inc.  For over a decade, Mathew has designed educational software simulations, mobile games, board games and card games, covering subjects in entrepreneurship, business, marketing, personal finance, investing, healthcare and more.  Mathew has previously worked as an engineer with IBM where his accomplishments included a national IBM award for innovation.  He has an Electrical/Computer Engineering degree from Dalhousie University and 20 years of experience designing technology-enabled products.  You can view his LinkedIn profile here

TecSocial is a monthly meeting for those with an interest in technology and entrepreneurship. It is a free event and is open to the public. A cash bar will be available and door prizes and appetizers (limited quantities) are compliments of our partners, Innovacorp and Membertou Trade & Convention Centre.
