This gathering will also be broadcast live via our YouTube Channel.
Our guests this month are Ted Mann and Adam Turkelson, CEO and CTO of Slyce, respectively.
Using image recognition technology for both mobile and desktop, Slyce can activate visual product recognition on existing product images or by simply snapping a photo. Ted and Adam will talk about the Slyce story and provide an overview of some of the R&D happening in their New Waterford location.
Ted is president and CEO of Slyce. Prior to running the business, Ted managed the company’s consumer app group — comprised of the three Slyce owned-and-operated apps, SnipSnap, Pounce, and Craves. He grew those apps to profitability and more than 5.5 million users and more than 80 retail customers. Ted founded the SnipSnap app business, and previously was director of digital development at Gannett, the largest newspaper publisher in the United States.
Adam is the CTO of Slyce. He has served as the lead architect for several companies specializing in machine learning and computer vision. Adam has been actively involved in deep learning R&D for several years. He has led technology teams for corporations such as United Airlines and Barclays as well as teams in industries including health care and finance.
