May 3, 2012: Show me the money...raising capital for your startup

Show me the money...raising capital for your start-up
Thursday, May 3, 2012
5:15pm - 7:15pm
Membertou Trade & Convention Centre (map)

Capital is the lifeblood of an early-stage company.  A better capitalized company is more able to meet its development objectives, manage its cash flow, and attract people with expertise and market experience to implement its business plan and increase speed to market.  Being undercapitalized has particularly significant repercussions for start-ups - they must perpetually try to raise funds; they are unable to focus on building the business; and they fail to attract and retain top talent.  Our panel will discuss various means of attracting capital to a start-up and share their lessons learned.  Our panel includes:

  • Patricia MacNeil, Coastal Business Opportunities Ltd.
  • Joe Cashin, Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation
  • Ross Finlay, First Angel Network Association
  • Peter Kupovics, RBC Royal Bank
  • Bob Pelley, Innovacorp (moderator)

Join us at the May TecSocial at Membertou Trade & Convention Centre, 50 Maillard Street, Membertou, NS.
