There Should be an App for That

50 Maillard Street, Membertou

Join us at our next TecSocial on Thursday, October 2, for the lowdown on the 1st annual Marcato Hackathon, which is coming up later in the month (October 18-19).

Marcato’s co-founder and CTO, Morgan Currie, and development manager, Eric Lortie, will talk about the hackathon, explaining what it is, who they're hoping will participate and what's at stake (hint: a $3,000 grand prize!). They’ll also share their vision for how events like this one will help nurture and grow our local technology community.

Plus, Marcato will be inviting your ideas about what kind of apps their competing developers should try to build during the hackathon, whether it’s an app that would make your business more productive or would benefit our broader community, or just an idea you’ve had in the back of your mind since you thought, “Hey! There isn’t an app for that – but there should be.

TecSocial is a monthly meeting for those with an interest in technology and entrepreneurship. It is a free event and is open to the public. A cash bar will be available and door prizes and appetizers (limited quantities) are compliments of our partners, Innovacorp and Membertou Trade & Convention Centre.
